Library representatives thank county for support; highway superintendent reports storm-related road repairs

Highway Superintendent Theis briefed the board on recent and planned road work. The minutes record that a guardrail just south of the Platte River bridge by Duncan Lakes was replaced last week. Recent rains have left some county roads "messy," a large hole developed in 131st Road west of Highway 39 and culverts will be ordered for the R Road project north of 141st Road. The minutes also note a safety presentation regarding downed power lines, to be given by Justin Sunday of the Polk County Rural Public Power District at the next crew meeting.
The board reviewed these updates during the meeting and adjourned at 11:50 a.m.; future meeting dates listed in the minutes are June 18 and June 25, 2024.
