Yancey County appoints Jessica McIntosh as tax administrator

The Yancey County Board of Commissioners unanimously appointed Jessica McIntosh as the county's Tax Administrator at its Jan. 12 meeting. County Manager Lynn Austin presented the recommendation, saying the appointment follows the retirement of Danny McIntosh after a period of training and transition.
Commissioner Mark Ledford moved to appoint McIntosh and Commissioner David Grindstaff seconded; the motion carried unanimously and McIntosh subsequently took her official oath of office at the meeting.
The appointment fills the remainder of the term held previously by Danny McIntosh, who retired after several months of training his successor. The board did not identify any further administrative changes during the meeting.
