She said construction would generate temporary employment but that long-term job creation would be limited.
West told the board she had signed an online petition opposing the project that had gathered more than 1,300 signatures as of the previous day. She also requested that the county make last-minute materials available in printed form at meetings and online so attendees and remote viewers can follow agenda materials.
The board did not take action on the data center during the meeting; West’s remarks were recorded during the public comment period and were not followed by a staff or applicant presentation in the transcript.
