Uniontown’s City Council on May 11 authorized the mayor to execute a second lease amendment with VFW Post 1949 to provide temporary exclusive occupancy of the VFW hall for senior-center programming while the Enumclaw Senior Center undergoes structural upgrades.
Parks Director Alina Hibbs said the amendment would give the city exclusive use of the VFW hall June 1 through Sept. 30, 2026 (except for two pre-scheduled rentals), and that the city will compensate the VFW a total of $6,800, which will be absorbed into the senior-center project budget. Hibbs said the city will also perform small ADA upgrades at the VFW hall to ensure continued accessibility; those costs are likewise included in the project budget.
The council moved and approved Resolution 1878 by voice vote. Parks staff said the arrangement preserves continuity of senior programming and access while construction occurs at the senior center.
