Bethlehem IDA approves audit, mission statement, PARIS filing and housekeeping resolution
Summary
The board approved its audit, mission statement and annual reports to the ABO (PARIS), passed a housekeeping resolution, and recorded motions to adjourn the annual and regular meetings.
The Bethlehem Town Industrial Development Agency voted to approve its annual governance filings and audit at the March 11 meeting.
After committee reports and staff presentations, the board moved to approve the mission statement, performance measures, assessment of internal controls, operations and accomplishments, and the PARIS report required by the ABO. Vice Chair Chris Welch called for a motion and the board voted to adopt the package for submission.
Later in the meeting the board considered the audit committee’s recommendation. The audit chair reported no deficiencies and recommended approval. The board moved and voted to accept the audit as presented.
The board also approved its annual housekeeping resolution (with a corrected spelling of a member’s name noted) and formally adjourned the annual business meeting before opening the regular meeting; at the end of the session the board moved to adjourn the regular meeting as well.
Victor Franco summarized the self-evaluation results for the board: the review found generally positive ratings but flagged three areas for improvement, including setting clearer measurable performance goals and ensuring board members have sufficient time to research and prepare before votes. Governance committee members said they will develop follow-up recommendations.
No controversial policy decisions or project approvals were made at the meeting; the votes recorded at this session approved governance documents, the audit, and routine housekeeping matters.
