Bank of Elk River donates $9,000 to Otsego parks; council accepts donation

The Otsego City Council on May 11 accepted a $9,000 donation from the Bank of Elk River to support free and reduced-cost Parks & Recreation programs.
Parks and Recreation Director Nick Jacobs said the contribution will fund reduced-cost recreation opportunities throughout the year. Bank representatives Alex Safe and LeRoy Lindenfelser presented the check to the city and thanked Otsego for the ongoing partnership.
The council adopted Resolution 2026-38 as part of the consent agenda accepting the donation. The consent agenda — which included multiple routine items — passed on a 5-0 vote after a motion by Councilmember Ryan Dunlap and a second by Councilmember Corey Tanner.
Jacobs told the council this is the bank’s 13th year partnering with the Parks and Recreation Department; according to his remarks the Bank of Elk River has donated more than $85,000 and provided hundreds of volunteer hours over that period.
The donation will be used to support free and reduced-cost recreation opportunities in Otsego; the Parks and Recreation Department will implement the program details and report back to the council as part of standard budget and program updates.
