Arts Foundation to stage 'Music in Kelly Park' series; early concerts moved to Bogart's during park construction

The Apple Valley Arts Foundation told the City Council that its annual Music in Kelly Park series will proceed in 2026 but with a temporary venue change while Kelly Park is reconstructed.
Mary Hayman Rowland and Nicole Junker, co-presidents of the Apple Valley Arts Foundation, said the concerts will be free and held Friday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Bogart's Entertainment Center from June 19 (Juneteenth) through July 31. The foundation said Splash Valley Waterpark will host a Friday concert on Aug. 7 (shifted to 6–8 p.m. for lighting and safety), and the newly reconstructed amphitheater at Kelly Park is slated to open with a community festival and performance on Sept. 26 from 6:00–7:30 p.m.; the amphitheater opening will be followed by fireworks or a drone show, organizers said.
Rowland summarized the foundation’s 28-year history, thanked city staff (including Eric Carlson) and a slate of sponsors — including ThinkBank (platinum), Bogart's, Uponor GF, Apple Valley Post 1776, Wings Credit Union, Valley Bike and Ski, Dakota Electric, 3s Design and U-Haul — and encouraged residents to use the foundation website for schedules and sponsorship information (avartsfoundation.org / avartsfoundation.org). "It's going to be the same, but it's gonna be different," Rowland said of the temporary venue change.
Mayor Pro Tem Ruth Bridal read a proclamation recognizing the Music in Kelly Park dates and declaring the series a community festival; the council adopted the proclamation by voice vote. Organizers said the Bogart's concerts will remain free to the public and that the city will post event details on the municipal website.
Organizers asked residents to avoid bringing pets and glass containers to Splash Valley and noted food trucks will attend several events. The foundation also thanked local media partners and photo sponsors that help publicize the series.
The council vote adopted the proclamation by voice; staff will continue to coordinate dates and notify the public about access and parking changes while Kelly Park is under construction.
