Willingboro says Performing Arts Center set to open April 3; council asked to approve technical contracts

"We're finally turning the final corner of getting the Willingboro Performing Arts Center complete," Duckett said, adding that most contracting is finished and remaining negotiations concern artist contracts and final construction touches.
Engineer Cipolla said contractor J.H. Williams is on schedule to complete phase 1 in early February but some phase‑1 items (carpet, aisle lighting, fire‑safety installations) remain. The council was told a small change order (change order number 7) reduces the J.H. Williams contract price by $3,718.64, lowering the contract from $1,112,740 to $1,109,022.
Manager Harris asked the council to award a $459,749 contract to Audio Assurance for an upgraded sound and lighting package for the center, citing prior bid attempts and the need to secure a system that meets the venue’s specifications. The resolution to award the equipment and installation package was included in the consent agenda.
Council members also discussed remaining fit‑out details and the schedule for in‑house previews for council members prior to public programming announcements.
