Batavia council accepts arts regrant, approves small local match and backs Community Heart & Soul application

Councilmember Schmidt moved to accept the grant and amend the 2025/2026 city budget to recognize the revenue and corresponding Parks expenditure; Councilmember Twichell seconded and the council approved the motion 9-0. The minute text lists the revenue and expenditure account numbers and the dollar amounts for the budget amendment.
Separately, the council unanimously adopted a resolution expressing support for Batavia residents to submit an application to the Community Heart & Soul program. The resolution notes that participation in the Heart & Soul process does not require the City to commit financial resources, staffing, or long‑term maintenance responsibilities.
