Councilmember Viele moved to award the general construction contract to Steve General Contractor, Inc. (Caledonia, NY) for $296,000; Councilmember Geib seconded and the motion passed 9-0. Councilmember Schmidt moved to award the mechanical contract to Quackenbush Co., Inc. (Buffalo, NY) for $15,000; Councilmember McGinnis seconded and the council approved 9-0. Councilmember Twichell moved to award the electrical contract to Hewitt Young Electric, LLC (Rochester, NY) for $205,000; Councilmember Lord seconded and the motion passed 9-0. Councilmember Briggs moved to award the plumbing contract to M.K.S. Plumbing (West Seneca, NY) for $122,000; Councilmember McGinnis seconded and the council approved 9-0.
The resolution language for each contract notes that funding for the City Centre project is being provided in part through the New York State Empire State Development Round 14 Capital Improvement Grant for Pro‑Housing Communities and that contract awards are subject to compliance with applicable state funding requirements. Combined, the four contracts total $638,000.
