The board accepted a $156,000 award from the VCOE consortium for the K–12 Strong Workforce Program (Round 8) to support engineering and ICT pathways; funds must be spent by June 2028. The board also approved a Brandios Graphics contract (roughly $70,000) to design coordinated site and academy logos and materials across district sites; trustees discussed scope and use of LCAP funds to support elementary-site branding. The board approved travel and associated costs (about $17,600) for three FBLA students and an adviser to attend the FBLA National Leadership Conference in San Antonio.
The board authorized creation of an escrow account to hold 5% retention for the Chemcorp Construction contract for the Green Schoolyards project (part of an already-approved $6.1 million contract). Several routine fiscal and personnel items — temporary loans resolution, certification of authorized signatures, and annual statements of need for qualified teachers and 30-day substitute permits — were also approved.
Each contract or grant was presented by staff, motioned, seconded, and approved by board vote; for most action items trustees approved motions by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
