Board to place mental-health service MOUs on business agenda after data and contact-info discussion

District staff updated the board on a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for school-based mental-health services and the information the district can provide to the board. "I have spoke to every principal, and they do have that information already with them," a director said, describing counselor contact lists and schedules kept by principals.
Staff said they can supply the number of students served at each school and total counselor hours district-wide, but that isolating hours per school is difficult because counselors often cover multiple schools. "We can get the total number of hours served, maybe not broken down with schools, but we can get the number of students served per school," the director said.
Board members discussed whether the MOU language should require counselors to sign an acknowledgment and what contact information should be on file. The board agreed the MOUs should be placed on the next business meeting agenda for formal vote or further action; no formal vote was recorded during this session.
Staff committed to follow up with principals and to provide the requested breakdowns where possible for the business meeting packet. The board’s next procedural step is to consider the MOUs as part of the business session.
