Commission Chair updated members that planning for the June 20 street dance "continues to go well," and confirmed a primary sponsorship commitment from James Carlton/State Farm.
The Chair and members said they and city officials recently met to plan logistics: police coverage, trash management and signage. The Chair noted the meeting was led by the chief and that the city prepared a needs plan for the event.
Members also discussed the local events calendar: an art fair organized by Webster Arts at Eden Seminary is scheduled for June 5–7; gazebo concerts at Gazebo Park are set to begin Aug. 21 and run Friday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.; the jazz festival is slated for September and holiday open houses are planned for November and December. The presenter cautioned that schedules fill quickly and distributed a dates list to help coordination.
The commission did not take formal action beyond routine planning confirmations; staff follow-up was recommended to complete permits, finalize officer assignments and confirm sponsorship details.
