GIDDINGS — City Council members on Jan. 12 authorized administrative amendments to two Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) administration agreements handled by Traylor & Associates. Interim City Manager Heather Garner said the edits remove the term “contingent” from the contract language at the request of the administering agency; staff said the changes do not change project scope or contract terms.
The two projects are identified in the minutes as Project No. DR 4586-0035 (generator for the police department) and Project No. DR 4485-0091 (generator at Well 12 / W. Austin St.). Council adopted resolutions authorizing the mayor to execute First Amendments to the administration/professional services agreements for each project (motions by Mayor Pro-Tem Alan Casey; seconded by Mark Muniz). The votes were recorded as unanimous among council members present.
City staff indicated the changes are administrative per agency guidance; design work for the generator projects is nearly complete and both the police department and water well generators are expected to be released for bid together. The EDA and other capital projects were discussed in the City Manager’s report and staff said they are coordinating procurement and closeout steps with grant administrators.
