The Jefferson County Board of Legislators on April 7 approved a series of routine but substantive actions across county operations. Key outcomes included:
- Multiple professional service agreements: contracting with Bonadio & Co., LLP for GASB implementation accounting ($9,850 maximum); The Howard E. Nyhart Company for OPEB actuarial updates ($7,000 and $2,500); Bowers Advisors for payroll services at specified hourly rates; LaFave, White & McGivern for surveying ($9,700); Barton & Loguidice for environmental services ($26,800); and Bluesky Geospatial for photogrammetric mapping ($16,870). Several of these passed unanimously; Barton & Loguidice passed with one abstention.
- Budget and grant actions: approval of mortgage tax fee adjustment to $467,247 for 2026; Stop-DWI remaining funds reappropriation ($9,913.21); insurance recovery allocation to replace a totaled Sheriff's patrol unit ($39,565); reappropriation of unspent Operation Stonegarden and LETPP Homeland Security grants ($281,848.03); and state aid amendments for substance use disorder treatment and mental health programming.
- Human services and program contracts: agreements to continue Consumer Directed In-Home Services administration rates, purchase CSA shares for Office for the Aging to deliver produce to underserved seniors ($40,320), YMCA evidence-based chronic disease self-management programs, and reappropriation for the Bi-County Mobile Crisis Program.
- Appointments: a new member to the Long-Term Care Advisory Council (Victoria Sokolowski) and the EMS Advisory Board (Benjamin R. Hodson, M.D.).
These items were approved mostly by unanimous votes and are administrative or programmatic in nature; the Board recorded several absences during roll calls. County staff will proceed with contract execution and budget administration as authorized.
