East Granby board approves several appointments and accepts resignation

The East Granby Board of Select approved a set of personnel changes during its meeting.
The board appointed Ruth Ackerland as an alternate to the Commission on Aging effective immediately through Jan. 4, 2027; the motion carried by voice vote. Hayes also moved to appoint students John Massifero and Kayla Langland to the Park and Rec Commission to replace outgoing student members Alexa Bednar and Elodie Simone; that motion carried by voice vote.
An adult vacancy on Park and Rec was filled with the appointment of Pat Arnott, approved by voice vote. The board also accepted the resignations of Joel Strong from the Inlands and Wetlands Commission and from Planning & Zoning as an alternate, effective immediately; the acceptance was approved by voice vote.
The board earlier adopted the April 22 meeting minutes by voice vote and announced a town meeting set for Monday, May 18 at 7 p.m. at the Mary Ellen Brown Community Center and a referendum on Tuesday, May 26 (voting 12–8 p.m.). Absentee ballots are available at the town clerk’s office and may be returned via the drop box outside town hall.
No roll-call vote tallies were recorded in the public meeting minutes for these items; approval was recorded by unanimous voice votes ('Aye').
