The TMRI Taskforce confirmed Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, 6–8:30 p.m. for a budget discussion meeting and assigned responsibilities for publicity, food, information tables and audio/PA equipment.
Members reviewed publicity strategies including Front Porch Forum posts, flyers and sandwich boards and asked that prior FPF posts be updated and new posts explain the new voting procedures and include the Zoom link. The taskforce also discussed postcards for outreach.
On food, members noted the popularity of the Food Hub Community Dinner and agreed to explore a partnership for the January kickoff. Catherine McMains will contact Bill (a Food Hub member) to obtain relevant contacts, and Gaye Symington will ask local farmers about Food Hub involvement.
S. J. Dube volunteered to lead organization of information tables at the meeting. Beth Esmond will contact Mike Weston about the library’s capacity and the availability of risers; Beth and Angelike Contis will research wireless microphones and PA equipment (specifications cited: five wireless lavalier microphones plus one handheld microphone, PA with six inputs) and estimate roughly $2,000 for a complete audio setup. Dave Barrington will package PA and mic information into a proposal for the Selectboard, and he will also send Susan Clark the points discussed about public questions and the agenda. Catherine McMains will discuss with the Selectboard the possibility of a separate forum for public questions.
At the Nov. 10 meeting Beth reported an update from Mike Weston that the library has 150 chairs available and a total capacity of 250; Weston recommended against using MMU’s risers because of trip hazards and suggested a tall table to seat the Selectboard. The taskforce will explore renting risers if needed.
Next steps include outreach updates on Front Porch Forum and postcards, follow-up contacts with the Food Hub, finalizing AV proposals for the Selectboard, and confirming venue setup ahead of the Jan. 20 meeting.
