The Glynn County Island Planning Commission unanimously approved a village preservation design review for an addition at 609 Ocean Boulevard (VP‑26‑4609).
Christina Wright, senior planner, presented the proposal for a single‑family home addition within the Village Mixed Use District and Island Preservation Overlay, walking commissioners through site and floor plans, foundation and roof plans and before/after elevations. Wright said colors and materials were implemented to mimic the existing house "very harmoniously."
Agent Kevin Higgins described the project as adding a bedroom to the main portion of the house. Commissioners asked whether additional parking spaces were required for the addition; staff confirmed the work is within the existing single‑family context and parking requirements were compliant without additional off‑street spaces.
A motion to approve the design review was moved and seconded and passed unanimously. The commission closed the public hearing on the item at the meeting.
