The Jones County Commissioners Court approved the sale of three county trust properties during its May 11 session, accepting two low-dollar bids for Stamford lots and a larger bid for a parcel in the Bumpass Lueder addition.
Commissioner Lonnie Vivian moved to combine agenda items 3 and 4 and approve both bids together; Commissioner Roy Spalding seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Under that combined action the court accepted Roel Lerma's bids of $310 each for parcel R15399 (Lot 1, Block 89, Original Town of Stamford) and parcel R12019 (Lot 2, Block 89, Original Town of Stamford). Court costs for those Stamford parcels were waived.
Separately, Commissioner Spalding moved to accept a bid of $2,011.25 from Orrin Brooks for parcel R15793 (Bumpass Lueder, Block 11, Lots 7 and 8); Commissioner Lonnie Vivian seconded and the court voted aye. The record notes court costs of $1,282 associated with that parcel.
All motions related to the trust-property sales were approved with all commissioners voting in favor. The court referenced exhibits A–C for documentation of the bids and deeds.
These sales were handled on the consent/auction items portion of the agenda; the court did not attach additional conditions to the accepted bids. The minutes reflect ordinary bid acceptance procedures rather than competitive bidding issues or protests.
