Gate Golf Club: County hears progress report and resident pricing assurances; opening targeted for December 2026

Scott McGregor, general manager of the Gate Golf Club, presented a construction and program update to the Collier County Board of County Commissioners at the May 26 meeting, describing course layout, clubhouse amenities and junior programming with the Collier County Naples First Tee Foundation.
McGregor reviewed facilities including the Oakwood Grill, a pavilion bar, a 38-bay practice range with TrackMan technology, an 18-hole Gator putting course, and dedicated bays for the First Tee academy. He said crews were building out interiors and that course surfaces were taking shape.
On pricing and access, McGregor said green fees for Collier County residents would be discounted by 40% during peak season and approximately 20% during value season, and that the facility would be open to the public rather than a private-membership model: “We are a community golf club... We are open to the public. Everyone is welcome,” he said. Commissioners asked about hours and lighting; McGregor said the last available bay rental on the lighted driving range would be about 10 p.m.
Commissioners praised progress, requested better wayfinding and more permanent signage for the park and event parking, and discussed VIP guest handling and future signage and signage upgrade planning. McGregor repeated a December 2026 target for opening, barring storm impacts.
