The Collier County Board of County Commissioners accepted an after-action report on FC Naples' inaugural season on May 26 and authorized staff to issue a purchase order to Raftelus Financial Consultants Inc. for an organizational and financial assessment of the Paradise Coast Sports Complex.
James Hanrahan, Parks and Recreation director, summarized season-one metrics pulled from the FC Naples survey and staff materials: “Over 68,000 that came through the gates to watch FC Naples play,” Hanrahan said, and staff materials listed $351,000 in verified visitor spending and $600,000 in net food and beverage revenue for the season. Hanrahan said the internal after-action focused on attendance, guest experience, operations and lessons learned; the proposed Raftelus review would provide an independent operational and financial perspective across the complex.
Adrian Moses of Sports Facilities Management clarified revenue flows: the management company collects revenues for the county and deposits them into a county fund; the food-and-beverage split is 75% to the county and 25% to FC Naples, with the county retaining the first portion and Sports Facilities Companies covering costs of goods and staffing. Board members emphasized signage, parking flow and guest experience improvements and praised staff and partners for operational gains.
The board voted to accept the report and authorized the PO to Raftelus for a 90-day assessment to analyze operations, roles and cost recovery and to recommend improvements for season 2 and beyond.
