Trefts said the intent was to maintain the originally approved character while responding to evolving site conditions and owner preference.
Nearby resident board member Shay spoke in favor of protecting the existing Poinciana and noted a personal preference for foxtail palms along the street; other board members complimented the presentation’s clarity and the petitioner acknowledged concerns about rabbit browsing for some groundcover choices. Planning staff (Jeff Brammer) confirmed the revisions meet code and recommended the usual condition requiring the landscape architect to certify as‑built compliance with approved plans.
A board member moved to approve the petition with the staff condition; the motion passed on roll call with affirmative votes from members present.
