Manager Edward C. Wagner and Administrative Assistant Samantha Cronrath told the Parks and Recreation Board that Community Day on Sept. 7 was successful and that volunteers and students have supported park upkeep.
Wagner reported that the Oct. 19 Empower Your Parks event at Sanatoga Park included members of the Pottsgrove High School Environmental Club and district administrators who cleaned playground equipment and collected trash along the lake. Wagner also noted the Inclusive Day fundraiser in late September raised about $2,000 for the Adventure Grove playground project.
The board agreed to begin planning Community Day 2025; Wagner said the first planning meeting will be Nov. 13 and that the Pottsgrove School District approved hosting the event at Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School. Board member Thomas Orlando proposed hosting a fish rodeo next year; Cronrath said she will discuss the idea with the Police Department and report back at the November meeting.
