Lower Pottsgrove adopts hazard-mitigation plan, appoints zoning members and records park covenants

The Lower Pottsgrove Township Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Feb. 3 to participate in the Montgomery County 2022 Hazard Mitigation Plan, appoint two members to the Zoning Hearing Board and record covenants on a portion of Sanatoga Park.
Commissioner Michael McGroarty moved to adopt Resolution 1368-25, endorsing the county hazard mitigation plan; Commissioner William Keohane seconded and the motion passed 5-0. Manager Edward C. Wagner said maintaining an up-to-date plan is important for eligibility for FEMA and PEMA support during declared emergencies.
The Board next approved Resolution 1369-25 appointing Todd Daniels as a full member of the Zoning Hearing Board and Resolution 1370-25 appointing Patty Bleakley as an alternate; both passed unanimously. Earlier in the meeting the Board accepted the resignation of Michael Boccella from the Zoning Hearing Board by unanimous vote.
The Board also adopted Resolution 1371-25 to approve a declaration of covenants and restrictions on a paved area of Sanatoga Park, roughly 2,600 square feet, that will be dedicated for public outdoor recreation. Wagner said the recorded declaration is intended to correct a prior 1980s parking extension and satisfy requirements under the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965 so PennDOT’s outstanding condition can be closed.
Other routine actions included a motion to advertise an Oil-and-Chip contract for consideration at the March 3 meeting and administrative items such as review of the January warrant to be available Monday. All votes on the listed resolutions and motions were unanimous, 5-0.
The Board adjourned at 7:13 p.m.; its next regular meeting is scheduled for Feb. 20, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.
