The commission considered applications for an unexpired term on the Department of Human Resources (DHR) board and nominated and appointed a candidate whose materials were in the meeting packet. A roll-call vote was taken and the chair announced the appointment.
Separately, staff presented a quote to have a longtime vendor load and test ballots on the county's DS200 voting machines and provide technician coverage the morning of the runoff. The commission authorized the vendor work at a cost of $2,650 so machines can be programmed, tested and supported on election day.
Commissioners also reminded residents about the June 16 runoff and encouraged poll-worker participation; staff said they will circulate a notice about openings on a separate economic development authority board later in June.
