Council approves $98,604 contract to replace pavilion atrium windows

The Woodway City Council unanimously approved authorizing the city manager to accept a quote from Cody Custom Builds not to exceed $98,604 to replace six atrium windows at the pavilion at the Carling Bridal Arboretum.
Councilwoman Gilman, at the request of a resident, asked whether the money for other, larger windows that previously went to bid had been returned to the budget and whether those windows would still be replaced. The city manager said the remaining funds will roll back into the capital projects line item or be carried over to the next year, and explained crews had difficulty attracting bidders because of the height, required exterior scaffolding, trim work and other complications (including an area with bees). The manager said the vendor available agreed to do the portion now to address the visible damage.
Council moved to approve item 8e, authorizing the city manager to execute the related documents; the motion was moved, seconded and carried unanimously.
