Ennis commission confirms multiple board appointments and authorizes city manager actions after executive session

Appointments: Mayor Cameron Rayburn nominated and the commission confirmed airport advisory board reappointments (Jeff Arnold, Carrie Bridil/Bridal, and Casey Hendricks); Historic Landmark Commission nominees and reappointments (Logan Treadway; David Sasha; Pete Sedian; Carol Hightower; Commission liaison Commissioner Shirley Watson); Parks and Recreation Board nominations (James Pator, Patrick Snodgrass, liaison Commissioner Bruce Jones); and Planning & Zoning Commission appointments including Ryan Garrett and Jeremiah McCauley and an alternate, Patrick Snodgrass. Nominations to the Keep Ennis Beautiful board (Sandra Roberts) and Crime Control & Prevention District board nominations were also approved.
Executive session actions: The commission recessed into executive session under Texas Government Code chapter 551 for attorney consultation and personnel matters. After returning, the body authorized the city manager to proceed as discussed in closed session with respect to matters including property at 1104 Decatur Street, actions concerning Tim Buona Park, and matters related to the Special Relief Grant Program. Motions were made and adopted by voice votes.
Next steps: Staff will carry out authorized actions from the executive session consistent with the direction provided and will continue standard onboarding and notice processes for appointed board members.
