In a broad district update, Dr. Samson (speaker introduced by others during the meeting) thanked the community for strong support of both the budget and the bond, saying the bond will allow the district to begin two years of its most pressing infrastructure projects without diverting operating funds. The buildings committee has already convened to start planning how bond proceeds will be used.
Administrators outlined staffing and organizational changes effective July 1: the director of early literacy will be a K–5 position, the director of humanities will be a 6–12 position, and the district plans to fill a supervisor-construction role that will focus on curriculum development and coaching. Leaders said they are in final hiring stages for several positions, especially at the high school.
The district is also pursuing a data warehousing partner via an RFP to centralize and make actionable student achievement data. Separately, administrators described plans to convene a technology planning group and an AI 'think tank' to coordinate instructional technology adoption and guard against fragmented or inconsistent use of AI tools across schools.
Administrators emphasized that some of these initiatives are in early stages and that final staffing and vendor decisions will be reported in future board meetings.
