Wildwood commissioners adopt 2025 temporary budget, approve contracts and set purchasing thresholds

Key approved items included: adopting the 2025 temporary budget; approving petty cash funds for 2025; adopting the 2025 cash management plan; authorizing purchase under state cooperative purchasing contracts; authorizing renewal of the city's Information Technology services contract with Barber Consulting Services, LLC in an amount not to exceed $60,000.00; authorizing the city to match certain funds in connection with a USEDA grant application for boardwalk reconstruction; authorizing payment of bills dated Jan. 7, 2025 in the amount of $1,169,792.05; and designating Christina Stackhouse as the Qualified Purchasing Agent with authority tied to contract thresholds noted on the agenda.
During early public comment, Christopher South of the Cape May County Herald asked what "Resolution 'J'" referenced. City Clerk Lisa A. Brown replied, "The Russia-Belarus Certification is for use in the Purchasing Department." Solicitor Steven A. Morris added, "it is a requirement to ensure vendors or contractors certify who they are and are not engaging in activities with Iran." Administrator Ed Grant said every municipality in the State of New Jersey is required to fill this form out.
Engineer Jessica Stilley reported no new items and said DeBlasio & Associates continues base mapping for the Capital Improvement Plan Phase III and New York Avenue work. The commission recessed to executive session to discuss parade routes as a matter of public safety and reconvened at 6:01 p.m. with no action taken following the closed session. The meeting adjourned at 6:01 p.m.
