The Town of Jackson Board of Trustees voted Jan. 14 to accept a $6,445.00 bid from Henry Brothers to replace the engine on the town's 2008 Dodge Ram maintenance truck.
The clerk recorded three bids: Henry Brothers ($6,445.00), ELAMS AUTO ($7,366.89) and Clark Crain ($7,767.50). Trustee Don Havard moved to accept the Henry Brothers bid; Trustee James Foreman seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Separately, trustees scheduled a special meeting for Jan. 29, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jackson Volunteer Fire Department to open bids for the town's 2020 insurance coverage. The town record notes the mayor requested bids to be opened for the engine replacement as part of maintenance planning.
