Lumberton Township Committee voted to approve a proposal by Bowman & Company for a cost-analysis audit of the Lees fire department, not to exceed $15,000.
Committee members asked for an overview of the study's scope and timing. A Bowman & Company representative described the project as a cost-analysis review that "will look at those particular numbers and figures and then they'll report back to the committee," and said the firm hoped to complete the work in "maybe like six weeks to eight weeks," depending on how quickly required information is provided.
The committee approved the contract by roll call; the recorded vote included one abstention. The study is intended to give the committee data to inform future direction or decisions about the fire department's operations and budget.
The committee requested that staff keep members informed during the study and provide copies of requested documentation to Bowman & Company to expedite the timeline.
