She said athletes with stronger resilience, optimism and access to social and psychological support tend to recover faster.
Freddy described experiential elements of the Envision Scholars program — monthly Saturday sessions with hands‑on activities such as CPR certification and suturing labs — and said the program helped her learn practical skills even though she plans to pursue a teaching career rather than medicine.
Board members and audience members praised her poster and asked about program logistics; Freddy said sessions run one Saturday a month from September to May and typically last into the early afternoon. The board thanked her for representing the program and for sharing her research findings.
