She said the county is continuing Incident Command System (ICS) training with Eastern New Mexico University and that Billy Bagwell is leading those classes. Antoanette said she has requested an elected‑officials ICS course for newly elected officials. She also told the committee the city’s all‑hazard mitigation project was sent to FEMA but review was delayed during the federal government shutdown; state officials are aware and the project remains in process.
Antoanette said staff distributed public‑education packets at local fairs and events and conducted outreach through programs such as Head Start, and reported on a recent city facility tour with the New Mexico Self‑Insurers Fund. She gave tallies of claims and workers’‑comp incidents for the year (19 private tort claims filed, 14 processed; nine city property claims compared with 11 last year; 17 workers’‑comp incidents so far this year versus 20 last year). She also outlined plans to coordinate the point‑in‑time (PIT) homeless count in January/February with local volunteers and partner organizations and to continue warming‑station coordination with a local church.
Committee members asked clarifying questions; Antoanette said she will continue to coordinate with department heads and provide updates. No formal action was taken.
