City staff corrects acreage on proposed annexation; applicant plans to relocate contracting office

Planning and Development Director Tommy Paradise told the council the staff report for an annexation on East Puna Vista contains a typographical error: the parcel is 2.48 acres, not 4 acres.
Paradise said three parcels were combined and that a portion of the property is already inside the city limits and contiguous to other general commercial zoning. "There's a typo in this staff report where it says 4 acres. It's actually 2.48 acres," he said.
He added the applicant is a licensed general contractor who intends to relocate his contracting business and build an office building on the site. Paradise said the city's comprehensive plan calls for mixed use in the area and that frontage along East Puna Vista is zoned general commercial.
The matter was presented as part of agenda review for next week's council meeting; council will consider the annexation formal action on the consent or regular agenda where the full ordinance and agreement will be available in the packet. Several participants noted inconsistent spellings of the street name in meeting materials; staff said the recorded acreage correction and parcel contiguity are the key staff clarifications recorded for council review.
