Director reports strong circulation trends, staff benefits uptake and $12,000 Friends book-sale haul

At the May 20 meeting Greer Carson delivered the director's report, saying overall collection use remains strong and digital-checkout activity is significantly higher than in recent years.
Greer said staff-space improvements at the Ellletzville branch are complete, including relocated public-service desks, a private staff workspace and program prep area, new carpet and plumbing and electrical fixes. She also noted "very positive initial staff engagement with the Hooser Start program" (a supplemental retirement option) and said staff participation has been higher than under the previous plan.
Greer thanked Whitney Eids for serving as the board's representative on the strategic-planning team and said the library will solicit community input this summer, aiming to publish a draft strategic plan in November and adopt a final plan in December. She also reported that the Friends spring book sale produced record sales totaling over $12,000.
