Silvertown Mint employees volunteer to repaint and maintain Winchester park

Board members praised the assistance and discussed notifying the public and recognizing the company’s outreach. Shane said Silvertown Mint also plans to begin volunteering at local schools next week. The board did not take a formal vote on recognition but agreed the efforts “definitely don’t need to go unnoticed.”
Members noted the work supports other seasonal preparations: outfield treatments, bleacher and score-table installations and pool startup. Board members asked staff to coordinate any public acknowledgment and to confirm whether the company’s volunteers are paid employees or unpaid volunteers for the purposes of city reporting and insurance.
The board also discussed logistics for future volunteer help and how to route communications through the park office so donations of time and materials are tracked. No formal directive or budget change resulted from the update; the board moved to other agenda items after instructing staff to follow up with details for recognition and any necessary paperwork.
