Staff updated the Planning & Zoning Commission that the village will consider resolutions on June 1 to approve an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with Carpentersville and to appoint Dan Straight of HLR as the village building official.
Staff said Carpentersville is expected to provide building‑official services for about 60 days while the village enacts its own building official arrangements; Carpentersville would also oversee the process for the 1601 West Main special‑use hearing in the interim. The commission was told the Carpentersville development manager, Tim Brinkman, will submit a report to the commission about the 1601 technical questions (height, FAR and variance issues) before the public hearing.
No vote on the IGA or hire occurred at this meeting; staff said those resolutions are scheduled for the June 1 meeting.
