Council elects Jennifer Wilson as mayor pro tem

Leach — At its May 26 meeting the Leach City Council elected Councilmember Jennifer Wilson (District 6) as mayor pro tem.
City Secretary explained the mayor pro tem serves in the mayor’s absence and that local charter practice assigns the role to the councilmember with the most seniority. Councilmember Collins moved to nominate Jennifer Wilson; the nomination was seconded and the council voted unanimously in favor. The mayor thanked outgoing Mayor Pro Tem Christy Martinez Garcia for her service.
Jennifer Wilson will serve in the mayor pro tem capacity for the coming term as determined by the council.
