Dexter wins $400,000 MDNR trust-fund award for Mill Creek Park North; SmithGroup engaged for master plan update

"SmithGroup is working on a formal proposal and has engaged a playground company to meet state grant specifications and reporting requirements," the Chair said. The council noted grant funds are typically restricted to construction and engineering uses and that the city expects to have approximately three years to spend awarded trust-fund dollars from the date the award is accepted.
Council asked staff to return with a formal proposal and timeline and to confirm any state reporting obligations before accepting the award formally. No formal action was taken at the workshop; staff said they will bring a proposal to council when a SmithGroup scope and cost estimate are ready for consideration.
