The Lower Pottsgrove Township Authority unanimously approved several administrative items at its Feb. 9 meeting, including the allocation of two equivalent dwelling units (EDUs) and payment of operating and capital bills.
During public comment, Realtor Kylie Harrington said she and a contractor were working on a property at 1108 Bleim Road that needs a public sewer hookup for her clients, who hold a government loan that will not permit settlement until the sewer connection is complete. "The buyers will be homeless if the issue is not resolved," Harrington said. Manager Edward C. Wagner explained that the contractor provided an E/One grinder pump manual but that plumbing and electrical permits are required; Solicitor Stephen Kalis told the speakers an EDU had already been requested, allocated and paid for regarding 1108 Bleim Road and advised them to "call the Township Office in the morning to request an appointment with the Code Officer." The Authority characterized the remaining steps as a codes/permit matter rather than an EDU-allocation issue.
On motions, Joe McGeehan moved to allocate one EDU to 1094 Mitch Road; Mark Loshnowsky seconded and the motion passed 5-0. Loshnowsky then moved to allocate one EDU to a new lot at 2175 Kepler Road; Joseph Groff seconded and that motion also passed 5-0.
Financial actions: The Treasurer's report, read by Joe McGeehan, showed operating accounts of $4,227,814.19 and capital accounts of $1,855,467.27. The Authority approved payment of presented capital invoices (total register $146,389.00) and operating invoices (total operating register $327,737.74) following a motion to pay the bills; the vote was 5-0 in favor.
Why it matters: EDU allocations enable new connections to the public sewer system; the minutes record that EDUs were allocated for two properties and that the Authority authorized payment of bills and accepted the Treasurer’s report. Public commenters seeking expedited hookups for individual properties were directed to the Township’s code office for required permits.
Votes at a glance: allocate 1 EDU to 1094 Mitch Road — motion passed 5-0; allocate 1 EDU to 2175 Kepler Road — motion passed 5-0; approve Treasurer's report and pay bills — motion passed 5-0.
The meeting adjourned at 6:34 p.m.; the next meeting is scheduled for March 9, 2026, at the Township Building.
Provenance: Public comment, EDU allocations, Treasurer's report and bills were recorded in timeline segments beginning at SEG 001 (public comment and allocations) and SEG 003 (treasurer report and bills).
