SAN MARINO, Calif. — The San Marino Unified School District Board of Education on May 26 voted to amend its closed-session agenda to add a public employee appointment for the position of principal and then adjourned to closed session.
Board member Miss Lamb moved to approve the amendment to the closed-session agenda, and Mr. Chang seconded, the presiding officer said. During the roll call, Mr. Chang, Mr. Sun, Miss Lamb, Mrs. Ryan and Mrs. Gil each recorded affirmative responses. The board adjourned to closed session at 6:26 p.m.
Before that action, staff reviewed public-comment procedures under Board Policy 9323B and announced three options for submitting comments — online form, Zoom and in-person cards — and clarified that online comments submitted between 11:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on May 26, 2026, would be provided to the board but not read aloud. Staff also provided accessibility instructions and a contact for accommodations (assistant to the superintendent; email jatory@smusd.us; phone 626-299-7000) and said agenda documents are available at the district office (1665 West Drive, San Marino) and on the district website, www.smusd.us.
There were no online submissions, no Zoom participants and no in-person public-comment cards for this item, according to staff.
