The Utica City School District board approved the superintendent's report and took procedural actions on multiple agenda items during a short session.
The superintendent told the board she would "withdraw S289" and said she would modify S284 pending grant approval, and that she would withdraw the first item on page 48. The chair then asked for a motion to approve the superintendent's report "as stated by the superintendent," and the board voted to approve the report.
The board identified a set of pages for separate consideration and tabling. Members agreed to pull pages 38 through 44 (except the bottom item on page 44) and pages 48 through the middle of page 52 for further action. A motion to table the items on pages 38 through 44 was made, seconded, and the chair announced those pages had been tabled.
The board voted by roll call to take up the specified portion of pages 48 to the middle of page 52. Recorded votes were Mr. Jun Yes, Mrs. D. Yes, Mr. D. Yes, a member recorded only as "Mrs." No, and Mr. Paul Yes; the chair announced the motion carried 5 to 1.
The board also voted to approve the minutes of April 15, April 21 and April 28, 2026. After the chair asked for corrections and none were offered, one member said they opposed (the speaker was not identified in the transcript) and the chair declared the minutes approved.
With no further continuing or new business, the board moved to adjourn and ended the meeting.
The actions recorded in the session were procedural (motion to exit executive session, dispense with committee reports, approve the superintendent's report with withdrawals/modifications, table specific agenda pages, take up a subset of later pages by roll-call vote, approve minutes and adjourn).
