Victor Town Board approves series of budget, contract and park measures

The Victor Town Board on Feb. 23 approved a package of resolutions covering budget adjustments, contract actions and park donations. The board moved, seconded and called the question on each item; no opposition was recorded for the agenda votes and each measure was adopted by the board present.

The measures approved included an amendment to the town budget to incorporate revenues and expenses tied to American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding; a transfer of funds to pay serial bond interest; authorization to execute a contract for energy‑management software upgrades; and an amendment to increase the contract value with the office of Bernie Donigan. The board also awarded construction contracts, including the Cobblestone Creek Phase 2 project and the Raleigh Road project, and authorized purchases such as park trash receptacles.

Board members also accepted several donations and event agreements: a donation to support improvements at Harland Fisher Park (dog park and “Rainbow Bridge” project), civic‑beautification donations from the Victor Garden Club for flower pots, and agreements for multiple summer concert acts, including a contract with Cast Iron Cowboy and another with the Yacht Club. A request for a certificate of liability insurance tied to events was also approved.

During discussion of the Cobblestone Creek Phase 2 award, a board member asked the vendor to improve resident communications after complaints last season. Mark, the highway department representative, said the town would draft and distribute advance notices to affected properties to reduce disruptions. Jack Marin thanked staff and volunteers for their work across the projects.

The board moved for adjournment after a brief public‑comment exchange about a county plan to install a four‑way stop at Lane and County Road 9; the meeting then adjourned.
