Tom Noll, the district’s Director of Engineering, told the Board of Sanitary Commissioners that crews continue stormwater improvement work on Delinda (a lane restriction remains on Maguyer) and that work preparing Adams for paving is underway despite weather delays.
Noll said the district will demo a camera-cutter truck provided by Rapid View (iBak cutter) to remove three intruding taps from a neighborhood sanitary line, patch the lateral and reinstate the main line lateral. The demonstration is scheduled to start around 8:00 a.m. on Daily with the patch work on West 28th Street in the Drum Addition; the event will be recorded for the board to view later.
Staff also reported that work at 301 North High Street—part of an IDEM order to comply with combined-sewer overflow (CSO) separation—was largely complete and that paving will follow. Bowen is managing the paving with subcontractor EMB; planned paving extents mentioned by staff include Franklin and High streets up to Gilbert and Weiser up to Walnut, and construction includes a parking lot for the new Gateway Park.
Noll acknowledged the morning’s heavy rain created many service calls and that crews were responding as the system recovered; he invited board members to inspect the demo and said the district sees the camera-cutter as a potentially valuable asset for its fleet.
No formal action on the projects was recorded during the meeting; staff provided progress updates and logistical details for the upcoming demo and paving.
