Board approves one-year counseling-services contract with Southeastern Ohio Counseling Center

The Rolling Hills Local School Board voted to approve a one-year agreement with Southeastern Ohio Counseling Center to replace Cedar Ridge as the district's provider of several counseling and social-work services.
"They are going to replace that and then they are also going to have a counselor and a social worker set up in our new social emotional part of the building at Brook," the superintendent said when describing the arrangement. The plan calls for students at Brook to spend half a day in social-emotional instruction and half a day in education as the district works to return some students to public settings.
Board members approved the contract in a roll-call vote. Mr. Dolan, Mr. Dudley and Mr. Singleton voted yes; Mr. Humphrey recorded an abstention. The motion was described as a one-year contract to be reviewed after the year.
Board discussion noted this is part of ongoing efforts to support student mental-health needs and to re-evaluate service delivery after the initial contract period.
