Tunnel to Towers exhibit draws more than 2,100 visitors to Point Pleasant Beach, council members say

Council members praised the three-day Tunnel to Towers exhibit and its large turnout during the Oct. 7 meeting.
"We had over 600 students coming in town and... the total number of visitors was 2,152," Councilman Benton said, reporting that organizers collected roughly $3,000 in donations on Saturday and that the event was among the largest Tunnel to Towers exhibits done in a small town. Benton thanked EMS, the sheriff's office and sponsors who supported the exhibit and noted organizers opened some sessions to neighboring towns and senior groups.
Council members suggested the borough pursue making the exhibit an annual event and commended staff and volunteers for the coordination and safety planning that allowed thousands to attend across the weekend.
