The Wyoming City Schools Board of Education voted to approve the Board of Education report, the treasurer’s financial recommendations and the superintendent’s personnel and program requests in a single meeting session.
The board approved the Board of Education report by roll call; members recorded affirmative votes. The treasurer’s monthly items — approval of minutes, statement of revenues and expenditures, a donations list and routine appropriation adjustments — were reviewed and approved during the same consent rhythm.
The superintendent presented personnel recommendations that the board approved, including hiring Jesse Elliott as a maintenance technician, Michelle McDonald as a high-school math teacher and Laura Smith as a primary-grade Spanish teacher. The board also approved unpaid FMLA for a staff member, athletic and non-athletic supplemental contracts, summer reading intervention supports, summer library/media work and CPI trainer appointments.
District leaders outlined several service contracts and cooperative arrangements that were accepted for the coming year, including orders through the Hamilton County Educational Service Center and partnership services with the Warren County ESC for interpreter and intervention supports.
The approvals passed on roll call. The board will carry routine oversight into the summer by reviewing certain items by email and reconvening when the school year resumes.
What's next: The superintendent’s recommended programs will be implemented over the summer; any contract or staffing starts and effective dates will follow standard district hiring and vendor processes.
