Council approves annual tax-abatement certifications after local business updates

The Town Council approved the town’s annual tax-abatement certifications after a series of business presentations that updated the council on expansions, equipment investments and hiring.
Benjamin Gleason of Precision Medical told the council the company has expanded coding operations and recently won approval to perform coding for a major spine-supply customer; he said the firm expects immediate additional work and highlighted a new mechanical engineer hire who worked at the company while in school.
Junga, identified as CFO of HF Group, described equipment upgrades including new toner-based and inkjet presses. She said the presses improved throughput and cut turnaround time by about 10–12 days and that the company retained five full-time employees during the previous year. Joe Vans of S&T Investments said the county reassessment schedule shifted and asked staff to help align county records so tax-abatement timing and payments are correct.
Alex Nolenberg, COO of Strauss Dairy Ingredients, described an expansion around a specialized spray-dryer that produces a protein-encapsulated fat used in calf milk replacer, noting the plant now runs continuously and ships nationally and overseas. MPS representatives described the company’s long local roots and scale; council members referenced MPS’s 2018 abatement and a headquarters move supported by prior council actions.
Carrie introduced the annual CF1 certifications and the council moved, seconded and approved all abatement certifications at once by voice vote. Staff advised the certified forms would be available at town hall and then forwarded to the county for tax records.
