At the Sept. 24 meeting the East Hempfield Recreation Authority reported that relocating the maintenance facility to the Note Road tract depends on securing capital funding, and a speaker said the township supervisors had approved a $3 million request on the township's capital list (RC cap). Officials said they may know more about funding by the end of the year.
During the finance review, members examined invoices payable totaling roughly $257,000 (including a final payment for golf carts). A motion to approve the invoices for Aug. 28–Sept. 24, 2025 was moved and seconded and passed with six votes in favor.
The board also reviewed a trial balance showing $373,790 in checking and $412,454 in capital reserve, for a combined total listed as $786,244.50 (figures reflect the end of August and do not include payments approved at the Sept. 24 meeting).
Votes at the meeting: the authority approved the invoices payable (motion passed 6–0) and later approved minutes for the Aug. 22 meeting (motion passed 5–0).
Why it matters: Securing the $3 million capital request would be a major step toward relocating and replacing the maintenance shed, which the authority said is a prerequisite for other development plans on the property. The authority’s available reserves were described as healthy heading into potential construction planning.
