Mountain View outlines two city-supported affordable housing projects totaling 281 units

Ramos also described work on a city-owned site at 87 East Evelyn Avenue. "Phase one will deliver 161 affordable rental homes, and this construction is anticipated to begin later this year," she said.
City officials said the projects involve multiple partners across county, state and federal levels and private lenders; the mayor did not provide specific financing amounts or unit breakdowns by affordability level during the remarks. Both projects were presented as part of a broader city effort to preserve economic diversity and house workers in education, caregiving and service industries.
Next steps noted by the mayor included continuing construction preparation and partner coordination; neither project was presented as having completed permitting or final financing at the State of the City address.
